What are the Benefits of Executive Transition? Through over ten years of research, practice and investments by national foundations including the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the David and Lucille Packard Foundation and a growing number of local foundations, executive transition services have developed and are now available to nonprofit organizations and their leaders. This set of services and practices is beginning to show promising results in reducing the risks and increasing the gains during leadership change. Follow-up research by San Francisco-based CompassPoint Nonprofit Services with organizations that used their executive transition services[1] showed:
Neighborhood Reinvestment, a national network of 215 local organizations serving 1,700 communities, began offering executive transition services to its members over a decade ago. Executive transition services and other training and capacity-building assistance resulted in the following improvements in the network of organizations served:
